Can i bring a portable dvd player and dvds on a flight to florida?

I'm going to Florida with my family in July and i was wondering if you are allowed to bring a portable dvd player and dvds on the flight? you can bring them on all flights but they have to be powered off for take off and landing (around 10 mins after take off, and 10 mins before landing.) And during the demo ect. Yes you can but you have to bring headphones so you don't disturb the other people on the flight. Have fun in florida!
